A place that provides short term lodging by taking money is termed as a hotel. Hotels vary from place to place and service to service most of the hotels often provide lot of other services apart from lodging these services include a swimming pool, restaurant, childcare center and recreation center.

Many hotels do provide additional place for meetings and conferences just to encourage business groups to carry on their meetings at their hotels in turn using their other services too. Many different countries use the word hotel fir some other places to like in Australia hotel is also used for a pub or a bar whereas in India it can be used for a restaurant too.

In France the word ‘hotel’ was used for the buildings that usually saw a lot of guest coming thus giving rise to the word hotel for the places that provided accommodation to people. The services in hotel vary from the type of hotel it is many hotels just provide simple accommodation and restaurant facilities where in turn some hotels provide many modern facilities to their guest major part of these services include food and taking care of the guest.

The quality and the cost of hotels indicate the type of service a hotel would provide you. In many countries there is a regular check of the quality of services that hotel provide and I n turn the regulatory body keeps a check on the price of the hotel. Hotels are classified on the basis of the services and the luxury they provide. There are some other types of hotels too they are:

Boutique Hotels:

This is the term that is used for the hotels that provide very luxurious environment to the guests. These hotels are basically in the North America so the term is more popular there. These hotels are quite smaller than the usual hotels but the facilities are comparable to large hotels too.

Motels:

this term is referred to those hotels which have a proper road access and is easy for the motorist to reach and commute through these hotels.

Historic Hotels:

these types of hotels are those which preserved their historic look and feel and provide guest with those facilities which gives a feel of historic environment.

There are some unusual hotels in the world like: the Ariau tower is a treehouse hotel, and then there are some cave hotels, snow hotels and underwater hotels too.
The world’s tallest hotel is Burj al-Arab in Dubai and the largest hotel is the MGM Grand Las Vegas which has 6276 rooms. The oldest hotel is the Hoshi Ryokan in Japan and it opened in 717 and it is still functional.
