FDA the Food and Drug Administration is an official agency of the government and is responsible for the safety and effectiveness of the drugs and these drugs which are been approved by this agency are been termed as the FDA approved drugs. When a new drug is been invented by any pharmaceutical company, then the company needs to submit an application which will be a NDA that is a new Drug Application to the FDA. The FDA will review the application and then look out for the proof that whether the newly introduced drug is safe and effective. To the FDA the two words safe and effective are been considered as their slogan, and once the FDA feel that the drug is safe and effective then the medicine is been approved. Once the approval letter is been received by the pharmaceutical company for the particular drug then they can officially start marketing the drug.
